Hey guys- VUE finally has a new home! Our new website is:
It's bigger, bestter, land larger than life! (not really) Make a note and come check us out!!! Also our new blog should be up in a few days...
Hey guys...your probably wondering "why" we haven't posted in a while! Well...we are getting ready for a new BLOG and SITE. So no fear more aimless ramblings will be coming soon- combined with GIANT images:) I'll keep you updated and can't wait to share!
OK- so I have a bit of good news! No I didn't receive a lifetime supply of hazelnut coffee, find a dust free sensor for my camera, win the lottery, get all of my speeding tickets taken off my insurance, little elves didn't show up to do my work while I'll slept, and no my husband wasn't magically programed to pick his clothes up off the floor! But...we did get 5th place overall in the latest WPJA contest(wedding photojournalist association). What an honor!! YEAH!!!
Go to the site www.wpja.com to see the top 20 in each category...especially the "humor" section. I was giggling so much my face hurt.

You never actually wish for bad weather during shoots...in fact you cross your fingers along with every other part of your body to try to swear it off. Unfortunately- photographers don't rule the universe...So you have to make the choice...reschedule or rock it out!!!
Loren and Mark's engagement session was a few weeks ago- and guess what? It rained! But the show must go on and we ended up having an awesome time. From wild flowers to bike rides...and not to mention the precious pooches!

So last time I ranted it was about violet...this time I'm going to go on and on about blue and yellow. Molly and Bryan had there wedding on August 2nd and the colors were stunning! Molly is a photographer too-( http://www.watermelon-photography.com/ ) I love her work and was stoked to capture her big day!
I've totally changed my mind about purple, violet to be exact. If you were to ask me what my favorite colors were, violet would be no where near the top of my list...until Rachel and Jared walked in to my wedding world. They were married at Carillon and the whole wedding was adorned with violet. It was so beautiful- she has now changed my mind about the color FOREVER!
Besides my new color obsession, you have to here this story...Rachel's niece was the flower girl who happen to have a crush on Jared. Months before the wedding she told Rachel that she was going to be the one to marry Jared and that she wanted him to give her a necklace at their wedding. So right before the ceremony Jared pulled out a little pink purse. Inside was a tiny necklace, for the tiny little girl. She was beaming as he put it around her neck. The rest of the day she couldn't keep her eyes off of it.
I never realized how much my work rituals were ingrained in my personality. It totally became apparent yesterday when we had Mia's 3rd birthday party. Looking back through the images I completely shot it as if I was on a wedding schedule. About an hour before the party I started with the details and location pictures. Then moved on to the pre- bridal...Oops I mean birthday girl shots of mini-me rambunctiously jumping on her bed. After that I got her anxiously watching out the windows for her groom, I mean friends. Finally it was time for the events- birthday cake, bobbing for apples(old school I know but the kids seem to LOVE it), and oh- yes..the pinata. Nothing says "sugar high" like candy flying through the air!
We had a great time...But I'm surprised I didn't ask when the bouquet was going to be tossed or the sparkler's were going to be lit.
